Electric motorcycle sprocket ratio and speed calculator
Adjust the tooth counts and watch the sprockets redraw instantly. Add motor RPM, power, weight, and tire diameter to estimate speed, wheel RPM, and torque multiplication.
Tooth counts and wheel size update instantly.
Sprocket size is proportional to tooth count, with a consistent tooth profile throughout. This is a gearing visualization, not a manufacturing drawing.
These estimates assume a representative upright electric motorcycle and rider, street tires, level ground, standard air density, perfect bearings, 90% electrical-to-mechanical efficiency, 0.60 m² aerodynamic area, 0.015 tire rolling resistance, and a 1.2 g launch-traction ceiling. The 0–60 model assumes constant motor torque to 50% of maximum RPM, then constant power; this makes sprocket ratio affect acceleration while keeping the inputs simple. Entered peak electrical power must be available from both battery and controller. Estimated maximum speed is constrained by both gearing and available peak power and is not a guaranteed sustainable speed. Real results vary with motor torque curve, phase-current limits, battery sag, thermal limits, riding position, wind, road conditions, tire grip, wheel slip, and rotational inertia.
